Air Pollution in India Cuts Foodgrain Output by half

The research paper ‘Recent Climate and Air Pollution Impacts on Indian agriculture’ authored by Jennifer Burney says, air pollution in India is affecting the benefit of wheat harvests, reducing it by almost half.

The research paper analysed examined yields of wheat and rice crops for 30 years, found that air contamination brought on wheat yields in thickly populated states to be 50 per cent lower than 2010.

Researchers inspected authentic information on product yields, outflows, and precipitation to reach their determinations.
