India’s Power Minister Piyush Goyal estimated India’s aggregate power consumption would double to 2 trillion units by 2019.
He said on Thursday, $250 billion of Investment was required through the following five years if the nation was to meet an expected doubling of energy consumption and provide power for all its 1.2 billion people.
He also assessed $100 billion would go into renewable energy.
He mentioned these points while addressing a conference.
