Bollywood blockbuster Film Bajrangi Bhaijaan starring Salman Khan in lead role, which minted around Rs 600 crore globally, had its first Television premiere on October 11th in Star Gold.
The second screening of the film is expected to happen after a gap of a few weeks. As much as Rs 50 Crore is expected to be generated from the first two television screenings with advertising and sponsorship revenues.
The film is expected to fetch Star Gold around Rs 60 Crore revenue in a year’s time. Giant sponsors like Amazon India, Askme.com, Carwale.com, Vodafone India Ltd. Etc have been signed up by Star India for the TV premiere.
Apart from Satellite, Star India also has the digital rights to the film and plan is to exploit the film on its mobile streaming app Hotstar, after second screening on TV.
Considering the massive success of the film, premiere on television has become a money-spinning prospect for entertainment channels.
