The Indian Women’s Cricket team on Sunday lifted the Asia Cup Twenty-20 tournament after defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by 17 runs in the final played at Bangkok.
Choosing to bat, India had placed 121 for 5 in the stipulated twenty overs riding on opener Mithali Raj’s unbeaten 73. Subsequently, with the ball, the Team India restricted Pakistan for 104 for 6. Ekta Bisht bagged the maximum of two wickets.
The Indian eves had gotten to the final of the six-team tournament, with 10 points, after winning all of their 5 round-robin matches. Pakistan, with eight points, were 2nd having won 4 of their 5 games.
