We have already reported that Geeta, the deaf-mute girl, who was stranded in Pakistan for 15 years, has returned to India yesterday, on 26th October. It was assumed that she will be handed over to her parents after the DNA test.
However, Foreign Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj reported that Geeta didn’t recognize her parents even after meeting them.
Sushma added, ‘Soon DNA tests will be conducted on Geeta to figure out the truth about the claims of her parents. Indian Government had decided to bring Geeta back even if her parents weren’t traced at all’.
‘Indian Govt. thanks Edhi Foundation for taking care of Geeta all these years in Pakistan. Geeta will live at a home for speech and hearing impaired in Indore until her parents aren’t traced,’ added the Foreign Affairs Minister.
AIIMS team has already collected Geeta’s DNA Samples and the results will be out after two weeks. Surprisingly, four families across the country have come out until now to claim that Geeta is their missing child.
