Baahubali is a Lesson about Diminishing Satellite Market

Recently, popular TV channel MAA TV telecast the India’s biggest blockbuster FilmBaahubali:  The Beginning’. The epic film might have shattered every Box Office record but it failed to beat the TRP record of ‘Magadheera’.

Official reports say that ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ managed just 21.84 TRP with its First Ever Television premiere. ‘Magadheera’ with a TRP of 22.7 still remains the highest viewed Telugu film on Television during the first telecast.

There was an unprecedented craze among the family viewers who stuck to their TVs to watch the premiere. Many thought that Baahubali would break the existing TRP records by a big margin, just like the box office records.

However, it did not happen. Many are attributing the cold response from viewers was because of the insanely countless ads that were aired during the telecast of the film. Most excited viewers, who were patiently watching, started losing the interest gradually and some even took to social media to complain.

On the other hand, MAA TV, which bought the satellite rights for a never heard sum, apparently struck gold by earning huge revenue through Advertisements.
