The election commission of India has served notices to BJP National President Amit Shah, Congress Party Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for violating ‘Model Code of Conduct’ during their campaigns in Bihar.
All the three top leaders will have to provide an explanation on or before 3 PM of November 4, failing which the poll panel will take its own decision without any further reference.
Amit Shah was asked to explain his comment, “there will be bursting of firecrackers in Pakistan if the NDA party loses the Bihar election”.
Rahul Gandhi was asked to explain his comment about “Plan B of BJP” in which he alleged that wherever BJP lands its foot, it makes Hindus and Muslims fight.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was asked to explain his “Narbhakshi” comment against Amit Shah.
Apart from these three, the ECI, in a separate communication, cautioned Janata Dal-United (JDU) chief Sharad Yadav to abide by the model code of conduct while delivering speeches.
