An Indian-American teen, 14-year-old Natasha Subhash, who hails from Virginia, has won the girls’ singles and doubles titles at the 2015 Atlanta ITF tournament, thus becoming the First Ever Indian-origin player to achieve the double feat at an international Tennis tournament.
Natasha Subhash won the girls’ singles title by beating Layne Sleeth of Canada, in straight sets 6-3, 6-1. She clinched the girls’ doubles title with her partner Ann Li by defeating Ali Collins and River Hart again in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.
Natasha dropped only one set in the entire tournament to win the singles and doubles championship. Earlier this year, she Featured in the 2015 US Open as a wild card entrant.
She is the Number one ranked player in Under-14 and Under-16 categories in the US. She is also the Youngest Indian-origin player ever to feature in the Grand Slam event. She might soon feature in the top 200 rankings of International Tennis Federation.
Subhash started playing tennis at the age of 5 and claims to be a big fan of Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer.
