Shocking: IFFI Rejects Baahubali and Srimanthudu

The jury of the 46th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2015 has given a major blow to the Telugu Film Industry by not selecting at least a single Telugu flick to be screened in the Indian Panorama section of the festival.

It is heard that 5 Telugu Films have been sent for nominations including biggest the motion picture of the country, ‘Baahubali’ and Superstar Mahesh Babu’s resounding hit ‘Srimanthudu’ but none has succeeded to make it to the list.

The jury, which watched Baahubali and Srimanthudu said that the Telugu Movies lacked the thematic and aesthetic excellence so the films weren’t sent to the central committee.

Out of the 26 films that were selected under the Indian Panorama section, 7 are Bengali, 5 are Hindi, 4 are Malayali and the remaining are from other languages. These 26 films will be screened at the festival to be held in Goa from 20-30 of this month.

Even last year, not a single Telugu movie made it to the festival screening. Telugu film fraternity is in deep shock as the Best bets like Baahubali and Srimanthudu weren’t selected for Indian Panorama.
