The result of the Bihar Assembly elections has come out yesterday, on 8th November. The Grand Alliance of the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress won 178 of the total 243 seats, leaving the NDA alliance just 58 seats.
Interestingly, nearly 9.5 lakh Bihar voters chose not to vote for any candidate in the elections and opted the “None of the Above” (NOTA) button on the respective electronic voting machines (EVMs).
As per statistics released by the election commission of India, a total of 9,47,276 voters (2.5 percent of the total votes polled) chose NOTA . Had all they voted for any one candidate, probably the result will be a little bit different.
