Ace director SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, ‘Baahubali’ broke Box Office records and set new benchmarks in the VFX arena. The fantasy drama Film was received did well across all the languages.
Now, ‘Bajirao Mastani’, another period drama is set for release and it is facing problems as it is being compared to Baahubali. This Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus it about a Maratha King and is set in ancient period. When asked about the similarities, Bajirao Mastani actors reacted in a positive manner.
Lead actress of the film, Deepika Padukone said, “There is absolutely no comparison between the two flicks. Maybe they look similar on paper but if you see the core story of the films, you would see that they are totally different.”
Bajirao Mastani actor Ranveer Singh too dismissed the comparisons and said, “Baahubali raised the bar in terms of visual effects for sure. But, Baahubali is very different from our Bajirao Mastani. While Baahubali is a dramatic action film ours is a dramatic romantic film.’
He added, ‘It’s a love story and focuses on the emotions and drama. We too have visual effects but the core of our film is not the VFX but the relationships between people. The two films are different. ”
Bajirao Mastani will release on 18th December.
