India’s heaviest rocket GSLV Mk-III successfully test-fired

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) effectively showed its capability by launching its heaviest rocket GSLV-Mark III on Thursday at 9.30am from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

The 630-tonne rocket with two colossal strong boosters shot into the sky from a platform at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota at 9:30am.

“The crew module has splashed down as expected in the Bay of Bengal. And has worked extremely well,” said K. Radhakrishnan, chairman, India Space Research Organization (ISRO).

PM Narendra Modi praised the ISRO researchers saying, “Successful launch of GSLV Mk-III is yet another triumph of brilliance and hardwork of our researchers.”
