Ace Indian Badminton player PV Sindhu defeated World No.18 Japanese Minatsu Mitani 21-9, 21-23, 21-14 to win the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold Women’s singles championship at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion on 29th November.
With this win, she has completed a hat-trick of the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold Women’s singles titles. In the final of the $120,000 event, Sindhu was in her elements right from the beginning.
The 20-year-old double World Championship Bronze Medalist Sindhu stepped into the championship as fifth seeded and took just over an hour to defeat the sixth seeded Minatsu.
Despite Minatsu was determined to win the battle and claimed the second game, Sindhu pulled things back in the third game with caution and aggression. Unleashing an array of delightful strokes, Sindhu ran away with the third game and the match.
