Although the university authorities refused to allow any festival, the student groups said that they will go ahead with their plan.
To counter the beef festival, few right wing Hindu groups led by Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) declared that they will conduct ‘Gau Maata’ puja and also take out a rally in the campus on the same day. Few other groups opposing the beef festival announced their plan to hold pork festival on the same day.
