The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the logo of the World Twenty20 2016 tournament which India will be hosting in 2016.
ICC wrote on its Twitter page, “Here is the world first viewing of the ICC World Twenty20 2016 logo #WT20 It’s coming to India, March 2016!”.
16 Teams: 10 Test Playing Nations and 6 Qualifiers will participate in the ICC World Twenty20 2016 tourney to be held from March 11th to April 3rd in India. Matches will be played in venues like New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mohali, Chennai, Mumbai, Nagpur and Dharamsala and the final will take place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
So far, 5 Editions of ICC World T20 tournaments were played with India winning the inaugural event held in 2007 in South Africa, beating arch rival Pakistan in the historical final.
In last year’s edition, India was brilliant to reach the final defeating the likes of West Indies, Australia and South Africa. However, India couldn’t not overcome Sri Lanka and lost the final to the Asian country.
MS Dhoni will lead team India in this year’s tourney.
