Metro India, a regional English daily based out of Hyderabad, has closed its doors on 13th Dec and it is heard that Chief Minister KCR has played a big role in it.
The Management of metro India Shutdown paper from the night of 12th and the paper wasn’t published on 13th Dec morning, causing a major shock to its employees, subscribers and advertisers.
The daily floated by CL Rajam is heard to facing financial issues for the past few months. Apparently, KCR has played a significant role in the closure of this daily so that he can establish a new English Daily ‘Telangana Today’. Metro India Founder Rajam also holds a Share in Telangana Today so closing of his daily didn’t affect him much. However, many of employees are on roads now.
Rajam earlier founded ‘Namaste Telangana’, a Telugu daily, and later sold it to Damodara Rao, a key aide of KCR. Now, he has done it again for his political gain and profit. In the game played by a media honcho and CM KCR, many employees lost their livelihood.
