All Political Parties of Odisha to Join Hands to Oppose Polavaram Project

It seems that All Political Parties of Odisha are joining hands to oppose the construction of Polavaram irrigation project in Andhra Pradesh.

The House committee of Odisha Assembly has decided to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak on this project that will submerge several villages in Malkangiri district of Odisha. The panel headed by speaker already sought an appointment with the Prime Minister and after getting a confirmed date, another meeting of the house committee will be held to finalize the memorandum to be submitted to the PM.

The ruling BJD MPs of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have recently met Modi to discuss the issue. After this, the Congress members resigned from the house committee and BJP members boycotted Assembly meeting to protest against the violation of ruling BJD over political unity on the Polavaram issue.

With this, now all parties have decided to stay united to raise their vioce on the Povaram issue when they met the Prime Minister. AP must be expecting a big jolt now.
