The election commission on Saturday issued a showcause notice to Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal for prima-facie damaging the Model Code of Conduct with his comments alleging that BJP is attempting to induce communal violence in Delhi.
As per reports, the EC said it is prima-facie of the view that by putting forth the expression, “you (Kejriwal) have violated the provision of sub-para (1) of para I of Model Code of Conduct.”
It reminded Kejriwal to provision in the Model Code of Conduct which gives that “no party or candidate shall indulge in any activity which may disturb existing contrasts or cause tension between different caste and communities, religious or linguistic.
