As per latest reports,the Central Bureau of Investigation has recorded the statement of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh regarding irregularities in the allotment of an Odisha coal block to Hindalco.
As sources say, the statement has been recorded from Mr. Singh based on the permission given by special court last year to the CBI to examine Manmohan Singh in order to get a full sense of what led to Birla Hindalco getting a coal block.
The CBI had looked closure of the case, in which Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, previous Coal Secretary P.C Parakh and others were named as accused.
