It seems that a new groundbreaking scheme to be launched by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh is going to benefit main opposition YSRCP.
Encouraged by the positive results yielded by the CFL Bulb replacement campaign, state Govt. and EPDCL in collaboration with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. is planning to launch another campaign to replace 1 lakh old fans with new energy efficient fans in a bid to conserve energy. Energy efficient fans, said to be 40 % more energy efficient, will be provided on installment basis to replace old fans.
The cost of the fans will be recovered through monthly electricity bills over a span of 3 years, in 19 EMI’s of Rs 100 each. The pilot project is expected to be launched in February next year in Narsapuram Village of West Godavari district. The permission has already been obtained from the Electricity Regulatory Commission to launch the project. Depending on the success in Andhra Pradesh, it will be planned nationwide.
