Ahead of the By-poll for Warangal Lok Sabha constituency, ruling party of Telangana, TRS has found itself in a tricky situation.
The Supreme Court’s verdict to revive the telecast of ABN News channel (blacklisted by the State Government for around 1 and half years) in Telangana has come just ahead of the crucial by-poll. It will be like a big setback for KCR and TRS party.
It may be noted that the Supreme Court had recently ordered the state govt and MSOs to immediately reactivate the services of ABN and even instructed to circulate the order copies to all the district collectors.
ABN might highlight all the problems that the state had been facing ever since TRS formed government, mainly Farmers’ suicides. TRS party would not welcome the decision of the Supreme Court as it might affect their poll prospects in a negative manner.
Chief Minister KCR could not do anything to stop ABN now. The talk in media and political circles is that ABN channel might not leave TRS and KCR easily for blocking the channel for more than 500 days.
