Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach emerged as Miss Universe 2015, after the host admitted to making a huge mistake by mixing up the names of the winners.
Earlier while announcing the results, Miss USA Olivia Jordan was placed third and Wurtzbach was announced as second. Miss Colombia Ariadna Guiterrez was adjudged the Miss Universe 2015. She was crowned by Miss Universe 2014, Paulina Vega of Colombia. Soon after Guiterrez took the victorious walk in Celebration, the host admitted to have made a big mistake in announcing the results.
Paulina Vega returned to the stage, took away the crown from Ariadna Guiterrez and placed it on the head of Pia Wurtzbach, who looked equally shocked as the people present. Finally Miss Colombia Ariadna Guiterrez is ranked 1st Runner Up and Miss USA Olivia Jordan was judged 2nd Runner Up.
Contestants from 80 countries across the world competed for the title. India’s Urvashi Rautela could not manage to earn a spot in even in top 15 in the 64th edition of the beauty contest held in Las Vegas, USA.
