AM Ratnam was once the top producer of southern cinema. He had produced many blockbusters in Tamil and Telugu by setting the combination of top heroes and directors.
After he introduced one of his son as actor and other as director, he witnessed back to back failures and that prompted him to take a sabbatical. When everyone forgot his name, he made a comeback and that too grandly.
Earlier he produced many hits on Sri Surya Movies banner. However, he made his comeback with Sri Sairam Creations banner by introducing his daughter as producer. Tamil star hero Thala Ajith became his lucky mascot.
AM Ratnam’s first comeback venture was Ajith starrer blockbuster ‘Arrambham’. The Film did wonders at the Box Office and brought AM Ratnam back in the game. He produced his next two films with Ajith itself.
‘Arrambham’ was followed by ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ and ‘Vedalam’. While ‘Yennai Arindaal’ was decent hit, ‘Vedalam’ has been declared a resounding blockbuster. Despite the heavy rains, the film is raking astounding moolah at box office.
The good hearted Ajith has resurrected the career of AM Ratnam with hat-trick hits.
