Bollywood star hero Akshay Kumar has donated Rs 1 crore for the relief efforts of rain ravaged people of Tamil Nadu.
As per a source, after knowing about the rain affected Chennai people, Akshay wanted to help them. In this regard, when he called his friend and director Priyadarshan, the Filmmaker asked him to contact Suhasini Mani Ratnam, who suggested him to donate the intended amount to Bhoomika Trust, which has been distributing food items to affected people since the first day of the disaster.
Then Akshay handed over the Rs 1 Crore cheque to filmmaker Jayendra, the managing trustee of Bhoomika Trust. Akshay’s concern for the people of Chennai is getting appraisal from one and all. Akshay has shown his big heart with this hefty donation.
Not long ago, Shah Rukh Khan and the team of his upcoming film “Dilwale” donated Rs 1 crore for the relief work. Dilwale will hit screens on 18th Dec. Akshay will be next seen in thriller film ‘Airlift’.
