Amaravathi to get International Airport in 5000 Acres

The Andhra Pradesh State Government has already stated longtime back that the Gannavaram airport in Vijayayawada will be developed into an international airport by expanding the already existing 536 acres airport by another 700 acres.

Many thought that there is no chance of a new airport in the proposed capital city, Amaravati, with the existence of Gannavaram airport, which is just 65 km in distance. However, as per latest reports, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed that a new airport is must and should for future use.

AP govt. is planning to build a new airport in Mangalagiri, 20 km away from Amaravathi.  The stunning part is this new airport will be built in huge 5,000 acres area. The state government has been chalking out plans for the same.

An airport in Kurnool district and another near Vizianagaram are also under discussion. Land acquisition for these airports is underway at the moment. The construction work of Amaravati city is likely to begin next month.
