Steve Smith is currently serving one year ban from all international and domestic matches over the ball-tampering scandal. Bangladesh Cricket officials set Australian captain Steve Smith free for upcoming T20 Bangladesh Premier League. He will play for Comilla Victorians in the next edition on January 5. He signed for the side, and from mid-January, he will join the team for the second phase of BPL as a replacement for Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik.
Earlier the Bangladesh Cricket Board banned Steve’s participation from the match, and later the other franchises withdrew their objections for the betterment of the tournament. David Warner, Australia’s ex-vice captain will also be a part of BPL 8 February onwards. He had signed two per drafts for Sylhet Sixers. Smith and Warner were both banned for one year.
Smith recently has signed for Pakistan Super League that will be played in February and March.
