The dream project of Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Bajirao Mastani’, love story of Maratha king Bajirao and his second wife Mastani, has been facing continuous hurdles lately.
The epic clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dilwale’ is a formidable aspect that the film has to face on the eve of release. Much before that, the film has become the target of historians.
First came an open letter from one of Bajirao’s descendants about the flaws in ‘Pingai’ Song highlighting the misleading way the saree worn by Deepika and Priyanka Chopra.
Now headache came to makers in the form of ‘Ban the Movie Bajirao Mathani’ Facebook page created by historians complaining Bajirao Mastani being a fabricated story, which is misleading the facts. The page already has around 2000 likes.
The description of the page reads ‘This movie is purely insulting the glorious History of Shri Bajirao Peshwa. Lets not forget his valor. Lets work together to halt misrepresentation.’
This page is fast gaining popularity and Bhansali is not at all happy with the movement on social media.
