BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya has been admitted to B.M. Birla Hospital, Kolkata, last night after he complained of chest pain. The 75-year-old has been put in the Intensive Care Unit and specialist doctors are constantly monitoring his condition.
Doctors say that his condition is stable at the moment but he needs rest and extensive care. As per reports, he has not been keeping well for some time. He was not even actively taking part in the daily functioning of the BCCI.
Dalmiya took over the reins of Board of Cricket Control in India in March 2015, after a gap of 10 years. However, since then he has been suffering with health related issues.
Cricket Association of Bengal officials including Sourav Ganguly rushed to the hospital to visit him. Sports and Youth affairs minister Arup Biswas has also visited Dalmiya in the hospital.
