The recently released Tamil Film ‘Pichaikaran’ starring music director Vijay Anthony playing lead role, has received numerous complaints claiming to have hurt the sentiments of Hindu people.
Brahmins Association in Chennai has lodged a complaint with Police Commissioner seeking a ban on the Feature film. Andavar Munnetra Sangam in Tamil Nadu has also demanded a ban on the film.
Brahmins claim that ‘Gayatri Mantra’ was used in an objectionable manner in ‘Pichaikaran’. Some of the scenes show even people inside the temples as beggars alleged the Brahmins.
On the other hand, the Movie has received largely positive reviews and it is doing steady business at the Box Office.
The strangest part is that ‘Pichaikaran’ has received tax exemption from the Tamil Nadu Government.
