The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court on Wednesday dismissed a writ petition documented by a yearning Movie maker blaming the crew for Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa of having stolen his story, taking into account the development of Mullaperiyar dam, for the movie.
Justice M. Venugopal held that the issue raised by the petitioner K.R. Ravi Rathinam, was a “private dispute” that could be solved only by starting civil or criminal proceedings and not by summoning the writ locale of the High Court under Article 226 of the Constitution.
The Film Lingaa is planned to be released on Rajinikanth’s 63rd birthday (December 12).
