Forbes India magazine has released the 2015 Top 100 Celebrity list and the most surprising part of the list was the place of Tamil star comedian Santhanam. With estimated earnings of 45 Crore, he was ranked 52.
Interestingly, Santhanam’s earnings are much higher than Tamil star heroes like Dhanush (42 crores), Suriya (32 crores) and Arya (29 crores). Much to the surprise, his earnings are higher than even Superstar Vijay. While Santhanam’s money wise rank was 17, he secured 91st rank fame wise.
He is well known for his rib-tickling comedy sequences and sarcastic oneliners in many medium and high Budget Tamil Films. Santhanam reportedly charges anywhere between 5 to 10 lakhs per day depending on the budget of the films, which makes him the Highest Paid comedian in India.
Apart from his huge earnings through films, Santhanam also has amassed big income through his production house ‘Inimey Ippadithaan’. The actor has also started playing lead roles in few out and out comedy Movies.
