As per the latest buzz in Film circles, the Hyderabad City Civil Court has issued notices to the makers of Mahesh Babu’s blockbuster Movie ‘Srimantudu’.
The City Civil Court apparently issued notices following a petition filed by a writer named Sarath Chandra alleging that the makers of Srimanthudu plagiarized his ‘Chachchentha Prema’ novel which was published in Swathi weekly magazine in 2012.
The notices have been sent to the director Koratala Siva, producers Mythri Movie Makers and even the Bollywood star hero Hrithik Roshan, who is set to star in the film’s Hindi remake. The petitioner sought a stay order on the remake of ‘Srimanthudu’ inHindi hence notices were sent to Hrithik.
The case has been scheduled for a hearing on 4th March.
Soon after the film became a huge blockbuster, Sarath Chandra came out and approached media claiming that Srimanthudu story has striking similarities with his novel. He even had lodged a complaint against director Koratala Siva at the Telugu Film Writer’s Association.
