Cut in health budget will be shocking: Ghulam Nabi Azad

The former Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday said any move of the current government towards slicing health care Sector Budgetary allotment will be shocking.

Azad, who was Health Minister amid the UPA administration, said he battled for a considerable length of time with the Planning Commission to get increment in the financial backing for health Ministry by almost 300%.

“Instead of sticking to the increase, present government is trying to cut in the financial backing and their monetary position is far superior than what we had.” He said.
