Day 4, India V/s Australia: Australia inches towards to victory

The ongoing test match between India and Australia at Perth has gone exciting by every passing ball. However, at the end of play of Day 4, Australia can smell the victory to level the series 1-1

After resuming to bat at 132-4, the Australians were very cautious in the first session. They just added 58runs, however, did not lose any wicket in that passage of play. Australian Captain Tim Paine and Usman Khawaja did bat their nail out to deny any wicket to India in the morning session.

However, after lunch, Indian bowlers, especially Shami were all fired up. The pace trio of Ishant, Bumrah, and Shami was lethal with their bouncers and was entirely accurate with their length, resulting in the collapse of Australian batting from 190-4 to 207-9. But the last wicket partnership of Australia added a valuable contribution of 36 runs, making their total score to 243. Shami finished off with his career-Best spell of 6-56.

While chasing a target of 287 runs, India yet again started on a weak note by losing KL Rahul for 0 and Pujara for 4. Captain Kohli and Murli Vijay did steady the ship for a while, but soon they fell from excellent off-spin bowling of Nathon Lyon. Towards the end of the day, Indian Vice Captain also lost his wicket to Josh Hazelwood.

At the end of Day’s play, India is placed at 112-5, needing still 175 runs on the last day, with Vhari and Pant being the last recognized batsman on the crease.
