Dhoni’s ‘Rising Supergiants’ Trolled

Limited overs captain of Indian Cricket team MS Dhoni was named as the new captain of Rising Pune Supergiants, the new IPL franchise owned by Sanjiv Goenka.

It is known that for the upcoming season of the IPL edition, two new teams were announced, Pune and Rajkot. This development became necessary after Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were banned for two years over fixing allegations.

The announcement of the name and logo for Pune team were made by the owners. The Sanjeev Goenka-owned franchise is named ‘Rising Pune Supergiants (RPSG)’.The abbreviated name is the same as the group’s name: RPSG (RP Sanjeev Goenka). This way of naming the team just to promote their group, was mocked by people on social media. The name of the franchise looks very funny and troll-worthy opined many.

Dhoni was earlier captain of the Chennai Super Kings. 2016 edition will be the first time Dhoni will be playing for a team other than the Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni’s team also has stars like Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Steven Smith and Faf du Plessis..
