Diwali, Deepavali or Dipavali, one of the most popular festivals of Hinduism was celebrated at Canada’s iconic Niagara Falls on 14th October for the first time ever.
The Celebrations included cultural programmes as well as fireworks show. The Diwali Celebrations at Niagara Falls were organised by the Indo-Canadian Arts Council (ICAC) with cooperation from the Niagara Parks Commission.
While Diwali celebrates on 7th of November this year, the Celebration at Niagara Falls was held on 14th of October.
The reason behind it is that the later it gets, the weather for an open-air event of this nature is less friendly.
Diwali signifies the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance”.
