M.Karunanidhi, the DMK President condemned comments made by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for her proposal to make the Bhagavad Gita a national scripture.
Karunanidhi said in a statement, noted that the constitution proclaims India a secular republic and the Central Government ought to treat all religions equally and follow secular principles.
Karunanidhi also urged PM Narendra Modi to take the legislature forward carefully without any obstacle to the developmental exercises by such disputable perspectives.
