American online social media and social networking service company Facebook on 13th November released its community standards enforcement report.

In a statement, the company said “people will only feel comfortable on our platforms if they feel safe. Today we’re the sharing the latest Community Standards Enforcement Report, which measures how we’re doing at finding and removing harmful content on Facebook and Instagram.”

“We’ve made progress in important areas such as hate speech, child exploitation imagery, and posts about illegal drugs and firearm sales but we still have more to do,” the company said.

“We’ll continue to invest in people and systems to combat harmful content on our platforms,” it added.

Facebook has also closed 5.4 billion fake accounts so far this year, in a sign of a persistent battle on Social Media against manipulation and disinformation.

In its latest transparency report, the Internet firm said it has improved its ability to detect and block attempts to create fake and abusive accounts.
