Here is the full story of why Megastar Chiranjeevi had to include Lyca Productions as co-producer for his much awaited 150th Film, the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster “Kaththi”.
Although Ram Charan has been reiterating for a long time that he will produce the 150th film under his mom’s name and on Konidela Production banner, suddenly a big twist in the tale came with the entry of Lyca Productions, the producers of Rajinikanth and Shankar’s grand project ‘Robot 2.0’.
Actually Tagore Madhu earlier purchased remake rights of ‘Kaththi’ from Lyca Productions, the original producers. He then tried to rope in heroes including Pawan Kalyan and NTR but couldn’t. At this time, he hadn’t paid the full amount to buy the remake rights.
Apparently, when Ram Charan wanted to buy the remake rights for Chiranjeevi, Lyca productions decided not to sell as they saw the historic opportunity of producing Chiranjeevi’s comeback film. As they were determined, Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi were forced to include them as co-producer.
The film will be officially announced on sankranthi eve. Pre-production work is progressing at the moment.
