West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, known to be one of the most destructive batsman playing the game today, has equaled the milestone achieved by Yuvraj Singh by notching the fastest half century in T20 History.
In the just concluded T20 match of Big Bash League (BBL), representing Melbourne Renegades, Gayle scored 50 runs in just 12 balls to equal Yuvraj’s record. Gayle got out for 56 in 17 balls (7 sixes and 2 fours).
It is well known that Yuvraj Singh smashed 50 runs in just 12 balls in the first edition of ICC T20 World cup held in Durban in 2007.
Yuvraj’s heroic innings of hitting all the six deliveries in the over bowled by England’s well known pace bowler Stuart Broad out of the boundary for sixes remains one of the classic innings the game has ever witnessed.
