Government plans to pass all important bills including ‘Land Acquisition Bill’

Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister for Urban Development has said that the government plans to pass immeasurably vital bills, including the Land Acquisition Bill, General Sales Tax Bill and Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets – Imposition of Tax Bill, in the coming Parliament sessions.

Naidu appealed to the opposition parties to cooperate with the government in section of the bills.

In the ordinary course, procedures would have recommenced on April 20 to finish the enactment transform on the Union Budget for 2015-16.

On the other hand, Rajya Sabha had to be prorogued to encourage re-declaration of the Land Acquisition Ordinance.

Under the Constitution, an Ordinance can’t be proclaimed unless one of the two Houses is prorogued.

At a news conference in Hyderabad, he kept up the bills proposed by the legislature were historic point enactments and being taken forward to the greatest advantage of the people.

However, opposition parties are strongly opposing the Land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill.

Former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh said the Congress was against the Land Acquisition Bill being pushed by the Narendra Modi government.

“It is not opportunism or simply restricting for political reason. Amendments to the Act passed by the UPA Government in 2013 were being done by the NDA Government to weaken the pro-farmer provisions and to benefit some private players,” he added.
