Hanuma Vihari position might shift to middle if he fails as opener: Selectors

The India and Australia third test match have started on 26th December. The chairman of selectors MSK Prasad assured that Hanuma Vihari’s position would shift from being the opener to the middle-order spot if he is not able to score runs in that position. The team Management lost their patience after seeing the performance of KL Rahul, and Murali Vijay thus decided to be fair and give a chance to Hanuma Vihari along with Mayank Agarwal who will be the openers of the innings in the BOXING DAY Test against Australia.

Prasad claims Vihari being a better test player than Rohit Sharma and also says that Vihari is not the permanent solution for being the opening batsman instead they will look for someone better.

Prasad had discussed many combinations like Parthiv Patel open the innings, but Vihari-Agarwal were found to be the ideal pair. And as Mayank Sharma is level A player, he will remain constant in opening the matches.
