Pakistan has finally announced public Holidays for Holi, Diwali and Easter festivals bringing sheer joy among Hindu and Christian Minority Communities in the country.
The Parliament has adopted a resolution to this effect. Hindu lawmaker Ramesh Kumar Vankwani moved the resolution stating that the government should take steps to declare Holi, Diwali and Easter as public Holidays.
Speaking in the house, the State Minister for Religious Affairs has said that the Interior Ministry has already given permission to the heads of government institutions to permit leave for Minorities on their religious festivals.
On the other hand, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid opined that he had no objection over Holidays being declared on the religious festivals of minorities but he pointed out that Pakistan already has more public Holidays than any other country in the world.
