The election commission of India on 11th of December has declared the results of Telangana Assembly Elections held on 7th of December.
According to the outcome, the people of Telangana gave a decisive verdict to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) with 88 out of 119 assembly seats, gaining 25 seats compared to 2014 elections.
The Congress Party which has formed a grand alliance with Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and Communist Party of India (CPI) won 21 assembly constituencies.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won only 1 assembly constituency out of the 5 the party contested.
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) has won 7 assembly seats out of 8 it contested.

According to the Indian constitution, the election process should take place to the Parliament as well as state legislative assemblies every five years, unless an emergency is under operation.
All the elections at the central and state level are conducted by the election commission of India (ECI) while local body elections are conducted by state Election Commissions.
