It is not fair enough to change the name of Abdul Kalam for Pratibha Puraskar as he was a great personality who had dedicated missile knowledge to the nation, says Pawan Kalyan.
Slamming the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh government’s order issued on 4th November, passing an order to rename an award named after former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam and name it after Jagan Reddy’s father YSR Rajasekhar Reddy, JanaSena party chief Pawan Kalyan has ridiculed has ridiculed the decision of the government.
It is not fair enough to change the name of Abdul Kalam for Pratibha Puraskar (Excellency awards) as he was a great personality who had dedicated missile knowledge to the nation, Pawan Kalyan said in a statement.
How will the chief minister replace his name with his father? Pawan Kalyan questioned.
“Anyway you have christened your father’s name to the Welfare Schemes. If you want you can name it for new schemes also,” Kalyan said.
Is it a culture to use names of your father and mother for the schemes? There are many great leaders like Prakasam Panthulu whose names can be given to the schemes, he said.
He also said that “YS Jagan claims that he was unaware of it when there is a strong opposition for removing the name of Kalam. It indicates the government has no control over the administration.”
“Are the officials then working as per their whims and fancies? If you are really since about your words, then suspend the persons responsible for it. If you are not suspending them that will indicate that the government is betraying the great leaders who served the nation,” he said.
