As per the latest buzz in Kollywood, Ilayathalapathy Vijay will team up with successful director K S Ravi Kumar to remake the Superstar Rajinikanth starrer 1992 hit Film ‘Mannan’.
The official remake with same ‘Mannan’ title is expected to go on floors in mid 2016, after Vijay is done with his 60th film, which will be helmed by Bharathan of ‘ATM’ fame. Sivaji Productions, which produced the original version starring Rajini and directed by P Vasu, will most probably produce the remake. Meanwhile, KS Ravi Kumar is busy giving finishing touches to the script. He is making few modifications to suit to this generation Audiences.
Vijay is currently busy shooting for Theri in the direction of Atlee. The highly anticipated film has Samantha and Amy Jackson as female leads. GV Prakash Kumar is scoring music. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, Theri has the likes of Prabhu, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Santhanam etc in supporting roles. It will release in April next year.
