India offers to support Indonesia in search for missing aircraft

India is prepared to support Indonesian agencies “in any way possible” in locating the AirAsia Indonesia aircraft that turned up gone on Sunday, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said in a letter to her Indonesian counterpart Retno Lestari Priansari.

“We Share the anguish and anxiety of so many Indonesian residents and others,” Sushma Swaraj wrote, stressing that these were difficult moments for the families of those affected.

India has since Sunday kept three maritime boats and a P-8i long- range observation airplane on standby to join the search.
