The much awaited bilateral Cricket series between India and Pakistan has been green-lit by both the Governments. Consent is given by the two Governments to play 3 ODIs and 2 T20s between 24th December and 5th January in Sri Lanka.
In fact, the arch-rivals were supposed to play this series including Tests, ODIs and T20s in UAE, the alternative home of Pakistan. However, BCCI didn’t show any interest and instead invited Pakistan to play the series in India. Pakistan Cricket Board rejected the proposal and offered to play either in Sri Lanka or England.
After much deliberation and many discussions, the series has been reduced to just ODIs and T20s. It will be a very tight schedule for both India and Pakistan as the teams have immediate appointments. While Team India has to leave for Australia on January 7th, Pakistan will be going to New Zealand on the same date for a limited over series.
This series has come as a huge gift for cricket lovers of both the countries, who have been waiting for a long time to witness the epic clash.
