The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has today announced the 15-member squad for Asia Cup and the ICC World T20 tournaments.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni will captain the Indian team for both the tournaments. Here is the team:
MS Dhoni (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, H Pandya, R Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Ashish Nehra, Pawan Negi, Mohammed Shami.
Uncapped Pawan Negi and Bengal pacer Mohammed Shami are selected along with Yuvraj Singh who made a triumphant return to the team. Manish Pandey, has been ignored despite his heroic century in the 5th ODI against Australia last month. Ajinkya Rahane has got the nod instead of Pandey.
Youngster Jasprit Bumrah has earned a place for his good performances during the Australia series. Seniors Ashish Nehra and Harbhajan Singh also retained in the side.
The Asia Cup will be held from February 24 to March 6 in Bangladesh. This is the first time that the Asia Cup is being played in the T20 format, instead of the 50-over competition.
The World T20 championship will commence from March 8.
