Here is the infamous story of how two Hyderabad guys duped E-commerce giants Amazon and Flipkart of several gadgets over a period of four months.
Yahiya Mohammad Ishaque and his brother-in-law Mohammad Shahroz Ansari had devised an almost foolproof plan.
Soon after the delivery boy arrives to their home, one of the two keep him engaged in conversation and in the meantime, the second one would carry the packet inside claiming that he will be back with the debit card.
The second fellow would smoothly opens the package and replaces the electronic goods in it with sand of equal weight. After repackaging it, he steps out with the debit card, which ultimately shows insufficient balance. They simply apologize and the packet with sand in it would be returned by the delivery boy to Amazon/Flipkart.
In this manner, the duo stole smart phones, laptops, cameras, DVD players and even a two-wheeler.
The two were finally arrested.
